My First Bike
Suzuki AP50 nice little bike thought it was the best thing ever, ended up blowing the engine. Bought a second hand engine from the middle of nowhere. Had it rebored to the max did not fix the securing pin correctly for the small end on the piston. Going some down hill when small end jammed in the exhaust outlet shattered piston and fucked barrel sold for scrap. |
Smashing bike
Brand new Yamaha YB100 this bike I thought could shift. On most roads even a little bike like this left most cars standing for a while.Until one day while overtaking a car over a hill found another car waiting to turn right. This is where you have three choices 1 drive into the back of the stationary car. 2 try to get between the car your overtaking and the stationary car or number 3 try to brake and hit the cars coming up. Nearly made it went for number 2 smashed the back side of the stationary car, plus broke my leg fractured skull smashed knee cap but the bike took very little damage. Took over 5 months for me and my bike to get back together. Worked on and drove the bike while still wearing a pot on my leg. getting ack on the bike was one off the scarest times ever. |
Field Bike
First proper field bike was a Triump Cub what a bike built like a tank Every time you tried to start it the kick back nearly broke your leg. once you got it started it would go for ever. Rember taking it on a trials once went over a jump on it could not get the front up, bang it came down hard on the front wheel I came down hard on the petrol tank, ouch couldn't move for atleast half an hour seemed like hours. sold it for 50pounds biggest mistake of my life. |
Combo that couldn't make its mind up
Old Z250 combo nice bike took some stares but what can you do with a mans best friend he had to ride somewhere. Well one day me my girlfriend were driving somewhere in sheffield pulled up to the traffic lights at a cross roads to turn right I turned right the swan neck on the sidecar snapped and it tried going straight on. Best thing was the coppers behind me once they had stopped laughing they helped us to get it to the side of the road. And buggered off made there day anyway. |
Double skid marks on the M180
American import CSR305 my first chopper on my way down the motorway visiting my mother not saying how fast I was going due to legal reasons but lets say it wouldn't go any faster, I dropped two valves which locked the engine instantly which locked the back wheel. It seemed like every thing was going slow motion until I dipped the clutch and manged to get the bike to the hard shoulder where a lorry stopped and gave me a lift to a local service station.Finaly got it home and bought a second hand Z250 engine made it fit and sold it could not get spares for the bloody thing. |
